Ben Simmons had to catch himself on a live stream Monday (AEST); forced to clarify that he was not tampering with Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.

“I wish Book would come to Philly,” Simmons said while playing Call of Duty on a live stream that Booker was a part of. There was a laugh in the background, before Simmons clarified: “I’m just reading what’s said.”

After those on the stream reacted, Simmons raised his hands in the air, and defended himself once more: “I’m just reading what’s said on my feed. I’m answering questions, even though that wasn’t a question.”

Philadelphia 76ers star Simmons put the blame on his audience, before adding: “I didn’t say it.”

The NBA is known for keeping a very close eye on any public comments that could be perceived as tampering.

But surely Simmons wouldn’t want an elite iso-scorer, who can score off the dribble and on catch-and-shoot opportunities to join him in Philadelphia … oh wait.
